Hansen is Named Oakland’s Best Attorney

Best Lawyers has named Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP Partner Charles Hansen as the “Oakland Best Lawyers Real Estate Lawyer of the Year” for 2010. Only a single lawyer per specialty area in each community is honored as “Lawyer of the Year.”

Hansen, who has practiced law for more than 30 years, focuses on real estate, commercial and secured transactions litigation. He concentrates on a variety of transactional and state and federal court matters relating to commercial and real estate lending, real estate transactions, mortgages, trust deeds, brokers, escrow, title insurance, commercial leasing, real estate development, guaranties and personal property-secured transactions. Hansen has formerly served on Wendel Rosen’s Management Committee and as the firm’s managing partner.

Hansen is a frequent mediator, arbitrator and judge pro tem and is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. For 25 years, he has taught advanced courses in a wide variety of real estate and finance law subject matters at University of California, Berkeley School of Law.

He received his J.D. from University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law (1977) and his B.A., summa cum laude, from University of California, Los Angeles (1973).
